Take part in a 2,000-year-old Chinese tradition - Plymouth Dragon Boat Race

Plymouth Dragon Boat Race at the Mount Batten Centre

Take on a 2,000-year-old Chinese tradition and have a go at dragon-boating while supporting The Royal British Legion.

Whether you're looking for a team building exercise, a networking opportunity, an opportunity to push your competitive limits or a fun day out with friends, family or colleagues, take part in our Dragon Boat race while raising money for The Royal British Legion to help support members and veterans of the British Armed Forces and their families.

Teams go head-to-head in long boats decorated with magnificent dragon figureheads. It's a test of teamwork and concentration as well as a physical challenge. There's a great atmosphere too, as family and friends line the shores and cheer on the teams.

Enthusiasm is essential, but experience is not - you will be given all the coaching you need. However you must be confident in water whilst wearing a buoyancy aid.

Each boat accommodates a minimum of 9 and maximum of 17 people (16 paddlers plus the drummer). In addition you can have three reserves in your team if you wish to rotate between heats and more importantly to help fundraise!

The entry fee is £170 per team with a minimum sponsorship of £750 per team. (team size, min 8... up to 17 people)

Participants must be 12 years old or older. All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
