A message from Plymouth City Council Events Team

 

Dear Proprietor/Manager,

We are writing to give you advance notice of this year’s calendar of events in the city organised by Plymouth City Council which also include Destination Plymouth, City Centre Company and Plymouth Waterfront Partnership events (please note that other organisation will run events and have their own road closures). In some cases it will be necessary to temporarily close certain routes through the city to facilitate these events. We have listed below all the road closures for this year’s calendar. You can view the colour coded map here.

 

May

Monday 8 - Civic Event

17.00 - 20.00: Princess Street and Armada Way (outside Court)

Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 - Plymouth Pirate Weekend (Pink Route)

10.00 - 16.00: Southside Street from the junction of Notte Street

 

June

Saturday 24 - Armed Forces Day (Yellow Route)

07.00 - 15.00: Hoe Road from the Mound at the Citadel to the junction of Madeira Road
13.30 - 14.30: Windsor Place in its entirety
13.30 - 14.30: Armada Loop
13.30 - 14.30: Hoe Road from the mound at the Citadel to Hoe Approach
13.30 - 14.30: Citadel Road from the junction of Hoe Approach to the junction of Elliot Street (for Military Parade)

Wednesday 9 & Thursday 10 - British Fireworks Championships ( Dark Blue Route)

16.00 - 23.00: Armada way loop (Holiday Inn)
07.00 - 23.00: Top of Lockyer Street to the junction of the back of The Esplanade 
16.00 - 23.00: Citadel Road from Lockyer street to Hoe Approach
22.00 - 23.00: Notte Street from the junction of Millbay Rd to the junction of Hoe Approach
18.00 - 23.00: Staddon Lane
22.00 - 23.00: Princess Street from the junction of Lockyer Street to the junction of Princess Ope inc. access from Armada Way

Closure of the Parade from the junction of Basket Ope and Notte Street.

Friday 15 to Monday 18 - Seafood Festival (Light Blue Route)

07.00 - 18.00: Basket Ope from the junction of Notte Street. Suspension of all parking on The Parade throughout.

 

November

Sunday 5  - Bonfire Night (Purple Route)

18.00 - 21.00: Hoe Road (from the mound at the Citadel to the junction of Pier Street)
18.00 - 21.00: Madeira Road
16.00 - 23.00: Armada way loop (Holiday Inn)
07.00 - 23.00: Top of Lockyer Street
18.00 - 22.30: Citadel Road from Lockyer Street to the junction with Hoe Approach
20.15 - 21.15: Notte Street from the junction of Millbay Rd to the junction of Hoe Approach
20.00 - 21.30: Princess Street – from its junction with the PCC Civic Centre Car Park to the junction of Princess Street Ope

Sunday 12 - Remembrance Sunday (Light Blue Route)

Windsor Place - for its entire length
Lockyer Street - from its junction with Citadel Road to The Promenade
Citadel Road - from its junction with Lockyer Street eastwards to its junction with Hoe Approach
Hoe Road - from its junction with Madeira Road to its junction with its eastern arm (eastern side of 'The Mound')
Hoe Road (south side of 'The Mound') - from its junction with its western arm (western side of 'The Mound') to its junction with its eastern arm (eastern side of 'The Mound')
Armada Way at its entrance and exit points on Citadel Road
The Esplanade - for its entire length

Sunday 19 - Barbican Lights Switch On (Light Blue Route)

07.00 - 18.00: Basket Ope from the junction of Notte Street. Suspension of all parking on The Parade throughout.

Thursday 23 - Illuminate / Thanksgiving Lantern Parade (Pink Route)

17.00 - 20.00: The Barbican from its junction of Southside Street to the junction with Lambhay Hill and Madeira Road. Change from two -way to one way.
1730 - 1900: Southside Street

 

As you may understand changes may be made but we will endeavour to keep you informed where needed. To help manage the closures and reduce disruption it would be greatly appreciated if you could either reorganise deliveries for another day, or contact us to let us know your expected delivery nearer the time, you may need to let your delivery companies know of the cut off time to avoid deliveries from being turned away.
