Dozens of classic Mini cars will be parked up on the historic cobblestones of Sutton Harbour this weekend for the next biennial Classic Mini Rally held in Plymouth’s famous Waterfront quarter.
The popular rallies are organised by the Westcountry Mini Scene organisation and held in Sutton Harbour each spring and autumn, attracting plenty of iconic Mini and BMW Mini cars to Britain’s Ocean City to take part.
The next event, and the final gathering of the club’s members for 2016, takes place on Sunday, October 30th from 10am until 4pm.
Cars will be parked at Whitehouse Pier in Sutton Harbour near Cap’n Jaspers, Plymouth’s legendary outdoor café on the quay, where the dedicated Mini owners usually gather for a group brunch at the start of the day.
Visitors are welcome to view the cars and chat to owners or take photos of the Mini vehicles on show, which will include every variety from vans, saloon cars and pick-ups to Riley Elfs and Wolseley Hornets.
Mark Brimacombe, Marina Manager for Sutton Harbour Holdings plc, said: “The twice-yearly Classic Mini Rally events are always a popular attraction in Sutton Harbour, with people enjoying the sight of rows of immaculately restored and well-kept Minis parked up on the cobblestones alongside the harbour. We’re looking forward to one last rally this year, and hoping the weather will be kind.”
Visit www.wcminiscene.co.uk to find out more about the event, or to register to take part if you’re a Mini car owner. Motorists need to pay a minimum donation of £2 per car for the duration of their stay in Sutton Harbour, and places must be booked in advance.
