Summer Events - The Royal William Yard - 2016
There's lots to see and do across Plymouth's Waterfront this summer and here's the Royal William Yard's Summer Calendar.
12 June - Queen's 90th Birthday Tea Party - Join us on the lawn for to celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday! There will be a Brass Band and a whole host of food stalls selling quintessential English food from sausage rolls and cakes to ice cream and pasties. Bring along a picnic blanket and join in the fun!
26 June – Arts and Crafts Market – The Factory Cooperage at Royal William Yard
27 June - 10 July Wimbledon - A match made in heaven! Look forward to an ace summer. Get involved in the Great British Summer of Wimbledon right here with a big screen showing the matches, alongside other tennis-based activities on the lawn. Pull up a deckchair, a few friends, some sunscreen and head to the lawn.
3 July - Good Food Market - The award winning good food market returns to the Royal William Yard in July, bringing together over 50 food and drink produces from across the region.
16 July - Native Makers Summer Market - The Native Makers bring their summer market to Royal William Yard for the first time. Over 50 emerging and talented makers showcase their products.
5-21 August - Romeo & Juliet - The Barbican Theatre stage a beautiful, heart rending and accessible version of Shakespeare’s classic romance. There will be a total of 16 performances staged outdoors in a secret garden within The Yard.
7 August - Good Food Market - Bring the children along for some family fun with the adorable micro pigs from Pennywell Farm, face painting, animals and lots more!
3 & 4 September - Weekend of Wonders- The Invisible Circus return for a weekend of spectacular show-stopping entertainment, animating the streets alongside the award winning Good Food Market.
15 - 17 September - Outdoor Cinema - Bring out the bubbly and blankets! Plymouth Art Centre’s Open Air Cinema returns to the lawn. Films and tickets to be released in July.
18 September - Gran Fondo - Plymouth Gran Fondo is back for the two longest and most demanding routes of this popular cycling challenge - starting and finishing in The Yard, with options for supporters to get involved out on the route by taking boat trips up the River Tamar, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
