Plans are coming together to help attract more shoppers to the waterfront this Christmas. You will start to see marketing collateral being distributed throughout the city over the coming weeks, including a Plymouth Loves Christmas map and programme.
As part of the waterfront offer there will be two events taking place; Thanksgiving and Christmas in the Harbour (27 November) and Christmas at the Royal William Yard (7 December).
A short Thanksgiving service will take place at the Mayflower Steps at 5.30pm on 27 November, followed by an outdoor, traditional carol service and Christmas light switch-on on The Parade.
The Royal William Yard event will follow the same structure as the recently successful Super Summer Sunday. This event will run from 10am to 4pm and will include the Farmers' Market and festive arts and craft stalls.
Both events will include a educational trail and the chance to win a Christmas themed prize. The Mayflower Trail will take place on the Barbican and Sutton Harbour, starting at the Mayflower Christmas Tree on The Parade, people will be able to learn more about The Pilgrim Fathers and where they stayed whilst in Plymouth.
The Darwin Trail will take place in the Royal William Yard, starting from the Darwin themed Christmas Tree on The Green. Learn more about Darwin's stay in Plymouth before his voyage to The Galapagos Islands aboard The Beagle.
These trails form part of the Christmas campaign but will also remain open after Christmas.
More information about Christmas will be released soon, in the meantime visit visitplymouth.co.uk/christmas for more information.
