COVID-19 Business Assistance

Dear Waterfront BID Members

COVID-19 Business Assistance These are unprecedented times for everyone and we’re working as fast as we can to offer you support, seeking guidance from the Government, British BIDs and Plymouth City Council. I am certain that you will now be in deep continuity and business resilience mode, doing your best to keep your business operational and your staff employed. Thank you for all you’re doing, it’s vital that we all pull together. The Council is currently awaiting central Government guidance to put in place the grant and business rates reliefs announced by the Exchequer. Once we have the information of what’s available and how to apply we’ll send it to you to support your business. In the meantime, we need to understand the true scale of the impact. We’re coordinating with the Council’s Economic Development department and the City Centre BID to encourage our BID Members to provide business intelligence. The information we obtain from your feedback will assist in understanding the true impact of COVID-19 upon our businesses and underpin our unified lobbying of the Government, with Plymouth City Council and with BIDs nationally. The Business Assist Profile Form is here: https://visitplymouth.cmail19.com/t/d-l-mjjujik-wjrtkjhyu-t/ which we would like you to complete for your business and return to invest@plymouth.gov.uk. If you have more than one business, please complete this form for each of your businesses. We will then convert this important data and feed it (anonymously) into our powerful lobbying to local and national government. Each day there are a number of measures announced by Government to support businesses impacted by COVID-19. As soon as we know what the next steps are the Council will announce them on the Invest Plymouth website www.visitplymouth.co.uk/invest and via our newsletters and social media; as well as doing our best to directly contact those businesses that have contacted us for assistance and completed the Business Assist Profile Form. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence and only used for the purpose of this survey. In the meantime, I would urge you to look at the Invest Plymouth Covid-19 support page. www.visitplymouth.co.uk/invest/business-support/covid-19 This has specific signposting, news and support featured and is updated with information as and when it is published. This also has links to two previous COVID-19 business newsletters. If you have already subscribed to Invest Plymouth you will receive these automatically; if you haven’t subscribed we highly recommend that you do, so that you can stay up to date with the latest support available. Please do also feel free to share this across your teams as appropriate. Thank you for your help with this important piece of intelligence gathering. The more detailed information we have upon the impacts our businesses are feeling, the better we can represent you. If you have any queries please contact me before the 10th April or Patrick Knight anytime at the email addresses below and we will make sure we get back to you as soon as possible: Sarah.gibson@plymouth.gov.uk Plymouth Waterfront Partnership Patrick.knight@plymouth.gov.uk Plymouth City Council Once more, thank you for doing your best to protect your business and your employees.
